STREET SWAP

STREET SWAP

This is my project for Moonshot Club, Stanford's tinkering club (that I am the president of)! Street Swap is a portable BLE bag charm that shares your info with people you walk by.

Inspiration

I was inspired by Nintendo 3DS Street Pass. When you would walk by another 3DS, your Miis would introduce themselves to each other! I thought it was such a fun way to build community, so I wanted to bring it to Stanford.

Design Goals

With Street Swap, your bag charm connects to an app where you can build a profile with your name, dorm, major, and personal avatar. Then, you swap profiles with anyone you pass by with a Street Swap charm!

Hardware

To start, I breadboarded and soldered all of my components.

  • LiPo battery
  • LCD screen
  • SEED XIAO nRF52840
  • On/Off switch

Case

I designed the enclosure for the electronics in Fusion. I wanted to invoke Moonshot Club in the case design, so I used the shooting stars from the logo and printed it with bright orange filament (the Moonshot color).
